The area to be liposuctioned is photographed and marked, and this is followed by oral sedation. The area is cleaned with a sterile antiseptic solution. Next, small pinholes (adits) are made in the skin through which tumescent anesthesia solution is infiltrated into the areas. The tumescent fluid is next allowed to settle awhile and then the liposuction is begun. The entire body sculpting procedure usually takes about1- 3 hours depending amount of fat to be removed. Following body lipo or facial lipo specific compression garments are applied to the treated area, and should wear for several days or weeks. The garments help the skin during the healing process to conform to the new reduced body contours, and they also provide comfort and support.

After Your Liposuction Surgery
After liposuction, you will likely experience some fluid drainage from the incisions. You may feel a little sore, and some swelling and bruising is expected which commonly peaks at three to four days and disappears within three to four weeks.
Recovering from Liposuction Surgery
Depending on the areas liposculpted, you may be able to return to work the next day, although some patients wait two to three days to rest before returning to work. It is important to begin normal activity as soon as possible.
Liposuction Results
The fulfillment that you feel from the initial results of liposurgery should continue as long as you maintain your weight with a healthy lifestyle. This means eating well and regular physical activity. Results will be visible almost immediately after liposculpture surgery, but the full effect may not be evident for four to six weeks after most of the swelling has subsided.
