If you would like to enjoy the benefits of a facelift with a minimally invasive, reversible procedure, then Contour Threads may be right for you. FDA-approved Contour Threads promote a youthful appearance with only a brief recovery period. Our New York City cosmetic surgeon Dr. Basil Pakeman can help you decide if this facial rejuvenation treatment is capable of producing the cosmetic surgery outcome you want. To schedule a consultation, please call us at (877) 621-1636.
The Contour Threads Treatment
Contour Threads are thin, flexible sutures that an experienced cosmetic surgeon threads beneath the skin from the ear to the hairline. Small barbs are located along the length of each thread, and after the threads have been placed, Dr. Pakeman's gentle pull on the end causes the barbs to gradually and smoothly lift sagging facial tissue. The lifting of this tissue promotes a naturally refreshed appearance.
Some patients want the improved appearance offered by facial cosmetic surgery but prefer the option of reversibility. Because Contour Threads are removable, patients can enjoy a new look but can always choose to reverse the procedure if they wish. For patients who have only moderate drooping of the face, Contour Threads has certain results similar to a facelift with less downtime.
Contour Thread treatment is minimally invasive and usually takes only an hour or so. For this reason, it is sometimes known as the "lunchtime facelift." Many patients have enjoyed the convenience of this fast, effective procedure, although the only way to know if it is right for you is to consult Dr. Pakeman. Some patients prefer the more dramatic, longer lasting results of a facelift.
Candidates for Contour Threads
Most healthy patients between the ages of 30 and 60 can be successfully treated with Contour Threads. Good candidates for this procedure are:
- Unhappy with drooping of the forehead, eyebrows and cheeks
- Interested in a minimally invasive facial rejuvenation treatment
- Interested in natural-looking rejuvenation results
There are of course other factors influencing your candidacy, and Dr. Pakeman will discuss them with you during your consultation.
